Feral Cat Coalition Clinic Procedures

Trap Depot Summary Checklist

  1. Reserve traps in Trap Depot Log when Screener or Trapper calls.
    1. Place "R" on log to indicate trap is reserved.
    2. Call person who will be picking up traps ASAP to confirm pickup and plan.
  2. Make clinic reservations for number of cats (not number of traps).
    1. Call early for assured reservation
    2. Note on Trap Depot Log reservations made
    3. If public cancels, you call to cancel reservation
    4. Contact waiting list for unused traps
  3. "Trapping Release Form" signed by public. File original 1 year.
  4. "Trap Loan Agreement" signed by public. Complete all info, and add directions to clinic.
  5. Deposit - $35.00 per trap.
  6. Client gets copies. Staple check to originals and file.
  7. Demonstrate trap. (Use method in Humane Trapping Instructions.) Emphasize latched rear door.
  8. Always give "Humane Trapping Instructions" and "Drop Off and Pick Up Instructions." Give out FCC info. Give out other informational handouts as needed
  9. Note traps lent out with "O" on Trap Depot Log to replace "R."
  10. Follow up on traps not returned.
  11. Return client's check when traps returned.
  12. Clean and disinfect traps.
  13. Check for correct trap numbers and return traps to proper Trap Depots if necessary.
  14. Check that rear doors are latched properly.
  15. Check yellow FCC ID tags and trap ID markings. Contact Trapping Coordinator if trap is missing, broken or needs tags, etc.
  16. Send donations to FCC address. Receipts for cash donations.
  17. Send completed "Name/Address Collectors" to FCC address.
  18. PUBLIC OR VOLUNTEERS NEVER TO CALL VETS' OFFICES FOR ANY REASON!
